Fresh off the release of their debut EP, Long Road, OneSecond decided to begin work immediately on a second EP in 2012. "Changing My World" is the first single off of their next EP, White Paint and is the first song written since the addition of the band's 6th member and Cellist Sarah Petrocci. It's not often that you hear a violin and/or a cello in a rock band, but OneSecond creates their own unique style with the added instruments and doesn't disappoint with "Changing My World."
The OneSecond story was born in Dayton, Ohio. Friends since high school, front-man Eric Paul and drummer Sean McGrath began their musical journey together at a younger age. They played in a group together through high school, however, after graduation, they disbanded and went their separate ways. Joining other bands and creating solo projects led them to some personal successes, but ultimately would only guide them back to one another. As fate would have it, they regrouped, and turned their personal experiences into a sound best described as soulful funk, sprinkled with catchy hooks, powered by a beating heart of blues. From heartbreak to struggles in life, they have each been influenced by everything around them.
Take a step forward. Once this dynamic duo was back on track, they roped in two good friends, Georgia Fenton and Bobby Trick. Georgia would add her smooth tones and melodic expertise on violin, and Bobby would round out the sound on piano and organ. After months of rehearsing and performing with several different bass players, OneSecond finally happened upon Lauren Cummerlander, who would add her talent, knowledge, and vivid precision on the bass guitar. Months later, OneSecond discovered Sarah Petrocci. Her unique style, flowing technique, and gorgeous tones on the cello would finally add depth to OneSecond’s string arrangements.
With their extremely unique sound, these six are taking the Midwest by surprise. While performing several shows a month, their music is hitting college airwaves for all to hear. Their passionate live show is a perfect blend of mostly original songs and few covers. If you haven't been to a OneSecond show, you ought to catch their next tour date near you!
